When a task isn't going to start on the expected start date or finish on the expected finish date, a new proposed expected start or finish date needs to be submitted to the builder.

Update Requests from an Installer/Crew-Lead
An Update Request appears on your Dashboard when one of your Installers/crew leads requests a new finish date for a task they are working on. This typically occurs when a task takes longer than expected and will not be completed on the original expected completion date.
Manage Update Requests From Installer/Crew-Lead- Laptop
1. This is the quick view of an Update Request on your Dashboard. (1) Click on the task name to open task details, including the update request details to view and edit (2) Task Status (3) Expected finish date and proposed new finish date (4) Click Send to Builder for approval (5) Click to view the update request.
3. Clicking Add a Note will open a text box for your notes. Type in your note and click the green checkmark to save.
5. If there is an existing note from the installer/crew lead, (1) you can edit the note before sending to the builder by clicking Edit in the text box. (2) With all your edits complete, click Send to Builder. To dismiss this request, click Decline
6. The task will show a clock icon indicating that the proposed finish date is pending approval from the builder
***The Installer note will save and be visible to the trade super/scheduler. Any note edited or added by the trade super or scheduler will be visible to the builder.
Manage Update Requests From Installer/Crew-Lead on the Mobile App
1. Tap on Update Requests in the upper left-hand side of the screen to view a list of your update requests from Installers/Crew Leads.
Tap a task on the list to open the update request details.
3. Tap on the Proposed Finish Date to edit the proposed finish date from the installer/crew lead.
4. Click the Due to Weather check-box if the finish date change is due to weather issues.
5. Tap Add a Note to add notes to explain or add perspective to the proposed date change. Tap Save Changes when your note is complete.
6. If a note has already been added by the Installer/crew lead, you can tap Edit to remove or make changes to the note before sending to the builder. When all your changes are complete, tap Send to Builder for approval.
7. The task will display a pending approval message until the Builder approves the proposed finish date change.
Trade Scheduler: Update a Task's Start Date
If you're not going to start a task on the task's expected start date, you'll need to send an update request to the builder for a new start date.
To update a task's start date:
- From the Upcoming Tab on the left-hand menu, click on the task that needs the start date changed. This will open the Task Details
2. Click the Send Update Request.
3. Click the Propose Start Date field to access the calendar
4. the pop-up calendar, click the new start date that you want to propose to the builder.
5. If the new start date change is because of a weather event, click the Due to Weather box.
6. Click in the Add a Note box to add notes to give context to your start date change.
7. With your notes complete, click Send to Builder.
After your update request is sent, the task record will be located under the original Expected Start Date in Upcoming Tasks until the builder approves the new Proposed Start Date. When the builder approves the New Proposed Start Date, the task will move to the new date in the Upcoming Tasks Section.
Update a Task Start Date on the Mobile App
- Tap on the task that needs a start date change and then click Send Update Request.
- Select the new proposed start date from the list or Tap Chose from Calendar to pick a different date. Tap the check box next to Due to Weather if the delay is weather related.
- Tap Add a Note to add notes to give context to your start date change. (1) Type your notes and (2) Tap Save Changes.
4. Tap Send to Builder to complete your update request.
Trade Scheduler: Update a Task's Finish Date
When a task is in progress and is going to finish earlier or later than expected, it’s a best practice to proactively update the expected finish date with your best estimate of completion.
- Access your tasks in progress by clicking the Open Tasks tab on the left-hand menu and then click on the name of the task that requires a new finish date.
- Click Send Update Request to select a new finish date.
- (1) Click the Calendar icon and (2) select the new expected finish date from the drop-down calendar.
- After selecting the new proposed finish date, click Send to Builder.
