Trade: How to create Custom Roles?

What are Custom Roles?

A Custom Role is a unique set of notifications created for a specific user. 

Only Regular Users can receive a Custom Role assignment.

Trade Account Managers and users with User and Permission Management can create, update, rename, and deactivate Custom Roles.

How are Custom Roles useful?

Custom Roles can help a new user receive the correct notifications for their role within your Trade Company.

Later on, users with Custom Roles can update their Notification Preferences at any time.

Where to locate existing Custom Roles?

  1. Click on the Settings option in the desktop menu.

  2. Click on the Custom Roles tab to view the existing Custom Roles.

How to Create a New Custom Role?

  1. Under the Custom Roles tab, click on "New Custom Role."

  2. Type the desired Custom Role name in the pop-up window.

  3. Click "Create Custom Role."

  4. The new Custom Role will appear on the list.

  5. A confirmation message will appear once you have successfully created a Custom Role.

  6. Configure Notification Preferences accordingly for My Tasks, Other Relevant Tasks, and Lead Time for the Custom Role.

How to apply a Custom Role to a new user?

  1. Click on the Users tab on the desktop menu. 

  2. Click on "Add User."

  3. Enter the user's first name and last name, and select the Regular User option from the dropdown list.

  4. The Custom Role field will appear.

  5. Select a Custom Role from the dropdown list.

  6. Enter the user's email and phone number, if desired. 
  7. Click on "Invite User."

How to rename a Custom Role?
  1. Under the Custom Roles tab, click on the Custom Role you wish to rename.

  2. Click on the Custom Role name to enable the editing capabilities.

  3. Enter the new name.

  4. Click on the checkmark to save the new name.

How to deactivate a Custom Role?

If you deactivate a Custom Role, it will not appear when adding a new user.

  1. Under the Custom Roles tab, click on the Custom Role you wish to deactivate.

  2. Click on the three dots to the right of the name. 

  3. Select "Deactivate."

  4. A confirmation message will appear once you have successfully deactivated a Custom Role.

 

How to reactivate a Custom Role?

If you reactivate a Custom Role, it will once again appear when adding a new user.

  1. Under the Custom Roles tab, find the deactivated Custom Roles at the bottom of the list.

  2. Select the Custom Role you wish to reactivate.

  3. Click on the three dots to the right of the name.

  4. Select the Reactivate option.
